Solitude Earns Prestigious Nomination

Thank you to the Society Of Voice Arts And Sciences for nominating my narrative Dream Team, R.C. Bray and Julia Whelan, for the Voice Arts Awards in the audiobook category of Science Fiction, Best Voiceover for their performances on my newest novel, Solitude: Dimension Space Book One!

Solitude was one of only five science fiction audiobooks nominated for the 2017 title. The awards ceremony takes place November 5 at The Lincoln Center in New York, so it looks like Donna and I will be doing some traveling this fall.

Dean M. Cole, a reclusive caffeine junkie and author from Texas, formerly a combat helicopter pilot and now an airline pilot, writes science fiction novels. As an aviation enthusiast, he lives out his dreams of space adventures in his books, since "physics" and "budgets" stand in the way in real life. His stories are full of techno-jargon and action. Between flights, he translates these into German, drawn to the challenge of weaving long words into convoluted sentences. Despite his success, he fears his characters may one day become self-aware and choose safer career paths.

    Congratulations and good luck november 5th. I just purchased this book from audible and it was awesome! Great choice picking the two narrators who worked flawlessly together. I found myself laughing out loud a lot and my favorite was the box car fire. Thanks for a great story and I'll be waiting for the next book. Dennis

    Thank you, Dennis! Glad you enjoyed it, especially the boxcar scene. I loved writing it. I still smile at the mental image of him pounding on the glass while Metallica belts out: “Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire!”
